First-Time Visitor

Welcome to First United Methodist Church!

We are pleased to welcome you to First United Methodist Church in Graham, Texas and hope this page will make your visit a little easier.  When you come to a new place it can make you a little anxious and we hope this information will let you know more about what to expect.

Coming Into the Building

As you make your way into our facility for the first time we suggest you enter by the sanctuary either from Third Street or Second Street.  Entering the building from either of these two directions will take you to the Welcome Center.  The Welcome Center is located just outside the sanctuary in the large gathering area we call the atrium.  You will also find coffee, lemonade, and a chance to visit with your neighbors in this area.  One of our Welcome Center host will be happy to guide you in the building.

First Time in Worship

If you are coming for worship for the first time, please know that children are welcome in any of our services.  If you would like your small children to be in the nursery, a Greeter or Welcome Center host will be happy to guide you to the nursery.  There is a special time for children in morning worship services and we have Children's Church for children age 3 - kindergarten.  Children who go to Children's Church leave the sanctuary after the Children's Time with the pastor and are guided by adults to the Preschool Building.  Your children can be picked up in the Preschool Building after worship.

Our worship services are casual in dress.  There is no need to "dress up" although some of our members chose to do so.  You will find dress on Sunday morning runs from blue jeans to suits and ties, from slacks to dresses.  In both of our morning worship services you will find an exciting and compelling presentation of Biblical truths in word, song, and prayer.

You have two styles of worship on Sunday morning from which to choose.  Our 8:45 a.m. service is a traditional worship service.  This service is about 45 minutes in length and features traditional hymns and music.  Our 10:50 a.m. service is a blended service and is about one hour in length.  The music at this service is a blend of different styles, mostly traditional and contemporary, although it is not uncommon to have some gospel and classical.  Our evening Chapel Service is a casual service that meets at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel.

Coming to Sunday School for the First Time

If you have children someone will guide you to one of our age-appropriate nurseries or Sunday School Classes.  Our nurseries and Sunday School classes for two and three year olds is located in the Preschool Building (the building next to the playground).  Children's Sunday School classes are located in the main building on the second floor and there are always adults upstairs to help you find the correct room.  A Welcome Center host will also be glad to guide you to one of our many adult Sunday School Classes.  The Welcome Packet at the Welcome Center has a description of our adult classes and where they are located.

You are also welcome to explore our campus.  Maps are located throughout our facilities or you will find a map in one of the Welcome Packets which are located at the Welcome Center.

Have Questions?

If at any time you have questions, please ask a Greeter, Usher, or a host at the Welcome Center.  You may also contact the church office during the week (940-549-0970).  We are glad to have you as our guest!
